CANIDAE Supports Sacramento Monarchs Charity Event: Hounds and Rebounds

It was a tight finish in a game that almost went into overtime, and CANIDAE was there sponsoring the Hounds and Rebounds charity event at Arco Arena when the Sacramento Monarchs were narrowly defeated at home by the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, July 7th.

As many of the Monarchs' players are dedicated pet owners, some of whom even bring their dogs to practice, the team wanted to create a unique dog focused event by offering special "doggie" tickets to fans who wanted to attend the game with their four-legged friends. Tickets were $20 and included access to water and an outdoor grassy area. CANIDAE sales manager Jim Dempsey saw to it that every dog in attendance received a complimentary goody bag and CANIDAE All Natural Snap-Biscuit treats. Five dollars of every ticket was able to be donated to a pet related charity of the dog owner's choice.

During half-time, all of the canine guests and their owners were invited to walk across the floor as part of the half-time show. There was also a cutest dog contest and a doggie costume parade. CANIDAE donated free pet food and Snap-Biscuits dog treats to all the winners and runners-up.

Basketball fans crowded the CANIDAE information booth setup in the concourse where Dempsey and his staff answered canine nutrition questions and gave away free samples to the many pet lovers in attendance. "A lot of the fans seemed every bit as passionate about their dogs as they do about Monarchs basketball," said Dempsey. "We share with them that passion for the well-being of pets and thank the Monarchs for giving us an opportunity to invite their loyal fans to discover the benefits of our all natural pet foods. We were also able to help raise funds for pet charities so everybody came out a winner tonight."
