CANIDAE Raises Funds at The Michigan Pet Expo Through Charity Raffle for Cancer Research
12/18/2009
Sponsored in part by the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, The Michigan Pet Expo is a three day family-focused event where pet lovers are treated to a wide range of pet products, services, and great entertainment including CANIDAE sponsored Team Air Gunner in the Ultimate Air Dog Dock Diving competitions.
CANIDAE Sales Manager James Brown and crew were on hand among the thousands of attendees, handing out coupons and complimentary samples of our all natural dog foods, cat foods and gourmet treats while helping to raise funds for pet cancer research by holding a charity raffle.
Building on the success of our previous charity raffles at similar events, we once again offered a Felt Bicycle as the grand prize, with this raffle's proceeds directly benefiting the ongoing cancer research projects at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Pictured left is James Brown making the donation on behalf of CANIDAE directly to the MSU-CVM Director of Development.
As part of our continuing commitment to foster Responsible Pet Ownership and help animals in need, we donated the bicycle to the raffle, allowing all of the proceeds to go directly to the college. We are proud to have raised thousands of dollars for pet related charities across North America.
Pictured below is Tom MacGillis of Westland, Michigan who was the grand prize winner of the raffled Felt bicycle. He has two dogs, both of whom he rescued from the Westland Animal Shelter. His younger dog Jed, a 3 year old Lab, Coon Hound mix, has been fed CANIDAE All Life Stages his entire life. His other dog Jasper, a 13 year old Lab, German Shepard, Whippet mix, was switched to CANIDAE several years ago.
Upon hearing of his good fortune, Tom said, "I switched Jasper from [another brand] when I got Jed. He lost 5 pounds within a couple of weeks. The vet was very happy with this. She wanted him to take some weight off his hips because he was getting older. Jasper has maintained this weight for the last 3 years. I have also received many compliments on how good Jed's coat looks." Thank you and congratulations Tom!
