CANIDAE Service Dogs Help Raise Awareness for Make-A-Wish Foundation's "Walk for Wishes"
4/19/2011
CANIDAE sponsored service dogs were out in force at the inaugural "Walk for Wishes" event in Orange, California organized by the local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter. Attending the festivities at the Great Park in Irvine, CA was Sophie, a Multi-Poo service dog who visits the VA hospital in Loma Linda as a therapy animal.
Sophie has been seen at several hospitals in the area including the Loma Linda Children’s Hospital and will be visiting the Ronald McDonald House this May. This year, she led the “Walk for Wishes” along with several “Wish Fairies” from the Make-A-Wish Foundation for their two mile loop to help raise awareness for the benefit of children.
The day's events featured a world of wishes festival where families had a chance to understand all four types of wishes granted including : "to be", "to have", "to go" and "to meet" all in one day!
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
