Customer Service Representative - view position

CANIDAE Customer Service Representative is responsible for receiving or placing telephone calls, emails and digital communication to service our customers/retailers/consumers by providing product information, resolving issues and escalating issues as necessary.

The CSR, cultivates and maintains ongoing customer relationships. Uses computerized system for tracking calls. Gathers necessary information in a timely manner. Initiates and/or implements corrective action as needed in order to ensure that an excellent standard of service and a high level of customer satisfaction are maintained.

Responsibilities (Description of job duties required, but not limited to)

  • Responds to customer and customer support communications including phone calls, emails, and return messages, when not able to resolve them live.
  • Mails samples and coupons to customers as requested. FedEx items and product to Sales Reps, customers, and other employees when requested.
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customers’ complaint; determining the cause of the problems; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; assists in the correction or adjustment and following up to ensure a solution.
  • Contacts vendors and resolve issues when they arise.
  • Ensures maximum sensitivity, proper routing and responsiveness to all customer needs.
  • Maintains level of knowledge and understanding of CANIDAE’S FAQ’s.
  • Recommends products and or solutions to customers by collecting customer information and analyzing the customer needs.
  • Prepares customer service contact information for Trouble Ticket reports, by collecting customer information.
  • Issues replacement voucher for product issues when appropriate.
  • Works with Customer Service team members to handle and manage situations within the department.
  • Assists in administrative projects when required.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Prepares give bag/foodie bags for special events.
 
Other Duties:
  • Assist Retailers
  • Assist Customers with Retail issues
  • Work with Sales Representatives to resolve issues
 
Minimum Qualifications:

The following are the minimum qualifications, which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Education – High school diploma
  • 1-2 years of experience with pets and or nutrition desirable.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Customer Service environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and written/oral communication to communicate with internal and external customers
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple customers and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle complex situations
  • Ability to type 45wpm and 10 key by touch
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Windows

This person will be responsible for sales of the Company’s entire product line at an Independent Distribution Level within their territory, which includes Northern and Eastern Washington State, Northern Idaho, and parts of Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Developing a consistent and profitable growth rate that includes total volume sales as well as each product line category within the assigned territory. This will require becoming extremely knowledgeable about all of our product line in order to educate Retail Stores and Consumers.

  • Providing on the spot education/information to our Retail and Consumer customers regarding our entire product line, as well as key messaging we want to convey. Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, special events, and company meetings. Responding to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  • Conducting group seminars to Key Accounts to ensure they are fully aware of each offering in our diverse product line. Applying our proven techniques to promote sales growth. Working with our Sales and Distributor reps to drive sales growth by promoting team work and mutual goals.

  • Prioritizing key retail accounts within the territory and working with our District Sales Manager to develop an effective routing and call frequency strategy. Identifying opportunities to develop new business within the territory. Maintaining and executing an efficient quad planner and sales call cycle to ensure accounts are seen and developed as required.

  • Proactive salesmanship at each store for maximum exposure and turnover of our products, to include but not limited to; building displays, rotating stock, maintaining clean shelves, replenishment of out of stock products, and ensuring accurate pricing consistent with current promotional activities. Summary of Position
This position will lead CANIDAE®’s product promotional efforts in the USA and Canada.  This will involve analyzing sku-level sales data; understanding sales trends; developing targeted promotional plans and managing a promotional calendar across channels and regions.  This position will work closely with the sales management team to drive store pull-through of CANIDAE®’s line of products. Actual Job Duties – Essential Functions Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyze sku level sales data by channel, store, or region. Present this information in a concise way to others in order to drive informed decisions.
  • Be intimately in touch with the market place and in-store environments across the USA.
  • Work closely with marketing vendors and direct their staff to drive results.
  • Develop product promotional strategies and carry them out on time and within budget.
  • Develop and coordinate across functions to maintain a yearly marketing and sales promotional calendar across channels and product lines.
  • Work with the sales team to plan and implement special in-store promotional activities to help drive out-the-door sales.

  • Experience in the pet food industry or consumer packaged goods industry preferred.
  • Experience with selling or marketing to a specialty channel a plus.
