Warehouse/Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Norco, CA ) - view position

This position receives, stores and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the company warehouse. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. The warehouse/shipping and receiving clerk plans, organizes and monitors the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or production shops. Ensures a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reads customer orders, sales representative orders, work orders, and shipping orders for items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated area.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for staff and customer traffic.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and either place orders in holding area or create labels via FedEx to send out or write label and attach postage for USPS.
  • Responsible for physical inventory of all marketing, postal stamp equipment material, office supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Organize and clean warehouse and work area to maintain efficiency.

Other Duties:

  • Manage offsite storage and shredding units and processes.
  • Projects assigned by management.
  • Credit Request Form management and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2yrs previous warehouse experience preferred
  • Dependable and reliable

Physical Demands: The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions: This position works in an office setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jack, box cutters, postal equipment, forklift, and tape dispensers.

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.

Work Hours: Normal hours by actual daily work load. Office hours are 8:00 to 4:30. Daily determination of hours needed will be decided by Customer Service Manager.

  • Rotating stock regularly. This function can be physically challenging so it is important our Sales Specialist is in good shape and able to handle this function.
  • Ensuring that Retailer’s inventory numbers agree with our actual physical inventory.
  • Becoming very familiar with Key Account's Inventory Software to be able to check for accuracy and reconcile the numbers on their own, when allowed to do so.
  • Providing on the spot education/information to our retail and consumer customers regarding our entire product line, as well as key messaging we want to convey.
  • Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, special events, and company meetings.
  • Conducting group seminars to Key Account to ensure they are fully aware of each offering in our diverse product line.
  • Applying our proven techniques to promote sales growth.
  • Developing strong professional relationships with Key Account District Managers, Store Managers, and Employees. Communicating consistently with them to develop growth oriented sales strategies.
  • Proactive product presentation, at each store, for maximum exposure and turnover of our products, to include but not limited to; building displays, rotating stock, maintaining clean shelves, replenishment of out of stock products, and ensuring accurate pricing consistent with current promotional activities.
  • Scheduling business travel in a cost efficient way to ensure all visits to retailers are accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and submitting regular reports on calls made, expenses, sales, and presentations, in a timely manner.
  • Working closely with our Sales Management to ensure maximum effectiveness and professional development.
