I couldn't ask for a better food

10/29/10 - I have an almost 3 year old Beagle / Miniature Pinscher named Maybelle. I adopted her at 6 week old from a local shelter. She is a honey and full of energy. From the time she was little she had problems with a dry coat and dirty ears. Our vet suggested that it was beef causing these problems, so beef left her diet. Yet her condition didn't improve and she was chowing down nearly 5 cups a day and she is only a 13lb dog. Her energy level was so sky high... we I just couldn't find a pet food to match her body.

My friend that hunts told me about a new food his kennel had switched to and sent me a picture of how shiny and healthy Kodi looked now. I looked into this right away and found CANIDAE Grain Free Salmon.

It's excellent. Maybelle's coat is shiny and healthy, her ears are much healthier and she only needs two cups of food a day to maintain her weight now. I couldn't ask for a better food, and I get compliments all the time on how good Maybelle looks.

Winston goes crazy for his food

10/25/10 - I have a Saint Bernard named Winston. He's the most fantastic dog I've ever owned (and possibly in the entire world). I switched Winston's food to CANIDAE Lamb & Rice in January of this year after noticing his skin was dry and he was very thin even though he was eating 7-8 cups of food per day.

I have been amazed by the difference in his skin and coat CANIDAE has made. The lack of fillers in the diet means his body is able to retain the protein and by just eating 4-5 cups of food per day, he has filled out to be a healthy looking dog.

Winston goes crazy for his food and I am able to switch up the formulas without causing his stomach to get upset. His two favorites are the CANIDAE Lamb & Rice and the CANIDAE Chicken & Rice. I have been very happy with the results I have seen in Winston and will continue to recommend CANIDAE products to every pet owner I meet.

Exactly what Belle needed to help her on the road to recovery

10/15/10 - We have 3 dogs, Maddie, Bonnie [pictured left] and Belle. The first two are Boston Terriers and the last one is a mutt. For Bonnie, our smallest Boston, she used to throw up rather often. What prompted our switch, because the two Bostons were really doing quite fine on the other food, aside from the throwing up, was the fact that we acquired Belle, our token mutt :)

When my son brought her home she was a mess... flea and tick infested, pot belly (worms) and sparse hair. [Pictured right, before CANIDAE] Upon a trip to the vet, we found out she had mange, the noncontagious type. Thank God!!! We started her on treatments and I am very thankful we did.

I started reading up at this time about dog foods and how they are not all created equal. We were on a good dog food but not one that contained what we needed for a dog with a compromised immune system. I learned for a dog with strikes against them, as Belle had, that a quality dog food with a higher percentage of protein, among many other important ingredients, was exactly what Belle needed to help her on the road to recovery.

We started on CANIDAE immediately and this has probably been 3 years now, and all are thriving. Belle's fur is completely in and beautiful [Belle pictured again above left with Maddie who is pictured alone on final picture on right]. Belle is shedding, which I laugh at, especially because we tried so hard to get hair to grow. They are active and happy and love their food. Also, another thing was Bonnie used to leave food... never leaves any now :)

I am so thankful I found this website and read up on CANIDAE and decided to give it a try. We use the CANIDAE ALS, as well as cans and Snap-Biscuits too!

Danish Dogs Discover CANIDAE at the World Dog Show in Herning, Denmark

10/13/10 - Luna and Dina, owned by Pia and Sofia stopped by the booth of Sø-Pet Dyrehandel, the CANIDAE distributor in Denmark, during the World Dog Show in Herning, Denmark.

Since then, Pia and Sofia have been feeding their dogs CANIDAE, who love the new food and have a beautiful coat.

We've had much success and health

9/27/10 - Jake, my Norwegian Elk Hound mix, I call my rescue dog. He is now 14 years old and doing very well for his age. I've known him since birth, and he was my friend's keeper from the litter.

But sadly, at 2-1/2 years old, they were moving and had given him away. I discovered this at their house one day when the new owner showed up complaining about getting along with him, and described his new life in a garage, alone. Jake came out of his vehicle, and had very little hair, and was stressed. Who says dogs don't understand? I told Jake to get in my open car door if he wanted to go home with me. The new owner wasn't happy, but Jake and I were.

I went to the local feed store and met a knowledgeable food rep who said 'Holistic', and suggested CANIDAE. We've had much success and health, so much so that I will not change brands. I use CANIDAE treats too. Jake adjusted quickly, with his sister that we already had. I believe my vet when they tell me Jake may live to be 17 to 19. And they don't try to take me away from CANIDAE. There are several good pet foods out there, but CANIDAE has made Jake and Samantha healthy happy dogs.

I would have not written if I didn't believe Jake and Samantha might not be in such great health for old dogs, if not for their 12 years eating CANIDAE. Constant questions from people on what I do for the dog to have such a great, full coat. Remember he was almost hairless at 2 1/2. Nothing special, just good food, and happy health, I answer. You can't question success. Not one, two dogs.

9/21/10 - I'm sending you pics of Harley... He's a race dog!

Harley is a Weimaraner and is 7 years old. We have wanted to try CANIDAE for some time now, but I could never find a store that stocked your product in Utah.... I finally found a pet store 30 miles from our home that sells CANIDAE. Harley has had a fidgety digestive system. I've tried 4 times changing his dog food throughout his years to find a food that suits him - all top quality foods bought through vets. When I put him on CANIDAE I could tell I wouldn't have to change ever again. He loves it and his problems are now gone.

9/20/10 - Sirah is a 2 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. Her breeder recommended CANIDAE and every time we purchase a new bag this is what happens.

All of our 4 legged "kids" thrive on CANIDAE

9/15/10 - Our 4 dogs and 1 foster poochie are just like our children to us. Our dogs bring so much unconditional love and amusement into our lives, that of course we only want the very best for them. I discovered CANIDAE All Natural dog food about 3 years ago at Southern Agriculture here in Oklahoma. I read up about CANIDAE on the internet and found out it was a top rated dog food, so we made the change to CANIDAE. So for the last 3 years, the "kids" have been on the CANIDAE Chicken and Rice formula and they love it. My dogs love the taste, they have plenty of energy and their coats just shine.

We were buying a nationally advertised brand in the past at the grocery store, that I though was a good food, but CANIDAE just blew that brand out of the water. I will never go back, my dogs just thrive on the CANIDAE. The most obvious proof of this was with my little Bichon mix. Boomer had a typical problem that many white furred dogs have, which was unsightly red tear stains. I tried all kinds of products, including lotions, creams, powdered food additives and special shampoos to no avail. Nothing was working, so we just gave up.

Well after purchasing the CANIDAE for the nutrition and after all the dogs being on the CANIDAE for like 2 months, we discovered that the red stained fur we had trimmed off around Boomer's eye and beard area, was now growing back stain free. We were amazed and so surprised by this. Needless to say Boomer and the rest of the gang will be staying with the CANIDAE. Thank you for a wonderful product and for being such a caring company. Boomer the Bichon mix, Itsy & Little Bit the Chihuahuas, Mikey the Pit Bull mix & Indy my foster Miniature Pincher all give CANIDAE 2 paws up and a bunch of wagging tails to boot.

"She acts like a puppy again!"

9/9/2010 - I have three large breed dogs, a bullmastiff, chocolate lab and a bulldog mix. As an animal control officer, we talk about our pets, what we feed them and which products we use. One of our officers told me about CANIDAE, and how much healthier his allergy-prone pitbull was since being on your All Life Stages formula. I was having issues with my lab being overweight and having itchy, smelly, scaly skin problems. She weighted in at 98 pounds, which was not good for her joints or heart health.

In the winter of 2008 I decided to give CANIDAE a try and noticed right away all my dogs loved it, and it was easy to have them all on the same food from puppy to senior. Within a month my lab had dropped weight and her coat and skin looked great. After 3 months she was down to a healthy 75 pounds, and still maintains that girlish figure at 8 years old. She acts like a puppy again! Thanks for providing such a great product I can feel proud to feed my dogs. I suggest it every opportunity I get!

"Both started on CANIDAE 8 years ago"

8/31/2010 - I have been feeding my greyhounds CANIDAE for 8 years now and they are doing well. My oldest dog, Carol [the brindle pictured upper right], is 15 years and 7 months old. I believe their longevity is due to the good food I feed them.

Josey [pictured left] is 13 years old and Bosque [pictured right bottom] is a baby at 4. Both Carol and Josey raced until 5 years of age. Both started on CANIDAE 8 years ago. I adopted Carol right off the track. Josey was in a foster home before I adopted her.

At their elderly age both still enjoy short walks and playing with toys. They both enjoy eating any treats I give to them.

Bosque only ran 8 races then was taken off the track. He was very scared at the beginning, but after a foster home and then my home he has calmed down. He will eat anything he can get, enjoys his toys and loves to walk. Bosque is a blood donor with Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank in Maryland.

"I'll never consider feeding anything else"

8/10/2010 - We wanted to let you know how much we appreciate the CANIDAE dog food line and the incredible support your company provides. We rescued Princess from a foster home three years ago. She was being fostered by a reputable Mastiff breeder who told us that he was feeding her CANIDAE All Life Stages formula and that it seemed to work well for her. When we got her home and fed her, it immediately became obvious how tasty it was to her!

Naturally, we bought a bag (even though neither of us had heard of your brand until then) and planned to do research to compare CANIDAE to other 'high end' dog food products we were more accustomed to buying. We knew that even if our research found a better product, we'd have to slowly introduce the new product to avoid stomach upset. Well, were we surprised to learn about the quality of the CANIDAE line! The impressive quality of the 100% natural ingredients IN the product (high-quality meat, coat conditioners, antioxidants, etc.) were strong enough to convince us, but the list of ingredients NOT in the product (corn, wheat , soy, grain fractions, or fillers) immediately put CANIDAE over the top!

We've told a lot of people about how pleased we are with your food, and Princess' beautiful coat, lean torso, and energy prove that!

Thank you, too, for the support provided by your website. We realized that Princess is now between 7 and 8 years old and thought it was time to switch her over to the Platinum Senior/Overweight Formula. While we've had experience with switching brands with other dogs, we weren't sure if the slow introduction of a new food within the same product line would have to be done. We went on canidae.com, clicked on "Ask A Veterinarian" under "Support" and posed the question. Within a few hours, we had a very friendly, helpful e-mail response! This type of support behind a product is hard to come by, but is most appreciated. We wish others could back up their products as well.

"They've been doing great on the food"

8/9/2010 - I wanted you to know how much your help is appreciated by myself and the pups as well! Boston's are awesome doggies - they are so entertaining!! They are big dogs trapped in a small body. My guy, Cash, after Johnny Cash (he is my 'man in black') loves to do anything a larger dog would... but he even does it better. He fetches, swims, runs, hikes and play rough. Akayla, the chow-pit mix is a good little girl. She will be 9 this September. Both her knees have metal plates in 'em because she tore her ACL on them both. The first surgery I had done at WSU (Washington State University) and wow, what an amazing veterinarian program they have. The second one was done about 3 years later at a vet in western Washington.
 
They've been doing great on the food for the past 3 years. Akayla, even with her 2 knee surgeries, continues to run, hike, swim and play. I know both my dogs' healthy hair, skin, teeth and their ability to stay active in their older years is highly attributable to their CANIDAE meals.

"But what surprised me most was that his coat..."

8/5/2010 - As a first time dog owner I was surprised that one of the most confusing and difficult decisions I had to make about my dog was what to feed him! While I waited to hear from the shelter whether I would be approved to adopt the dog I applied for, I dove deeper into the research of everything involved in owning a dog. I read dozens of dog food labels, learned what to look for and what to avoid and compared prices. As a part-time employee at a movie theater I knew I couldn't afford the best of the best but I was determined to do what I could. Eventually I settled on a popular brands "natural" formula, the price was a little high, but manageable and the ingredients were decent.

We brought Toby home and after a rough first couple weeks (bathroom issues with him, and an asthma flare up from my sister) we finally got settled in. He was doing well on the food I had chosen, but I was feeding him nearly double the recommended amount for his weight just to keep his hips from sticking out! He is very active, and part whippet so he is naturally thin but he was too thin. I eliminated any medical reason for his weight and determined it was his diet. I switched him to another brand with more meat but it made no difference. I asked around about dog foods and that's when I heard about CANIDAE. I found the website, read up on it and it sounded great! I looked up stores in my area that sold it and went to check out the price. CANIDAE All Life Stages was significantly cheaper than what I was originally feeding him! I immediately made the switch.

The first thing I noticed was how much better the food smelled, which had to be a good sign! Soon after switching, Toby's coat was even shinier than before, his breath was better and it wasn't too long before his weight was under control and I was able to feed him less. But what surprised me most was that his coat, which I always thought was fine, was growing better. He has a long scar on his back, probably from getting stuck under a fence or something before he went to the shelter, and I have noticed that the fur around it is growing thicker and the scar is nearly covered, to really see it you have to part his fur.

I recommend CANIDAE to everyone! It is a great food, at a great price and I have never seen such great customer service from a company! I won't be switching foods again! I also plan on opening a dog care business in the next few years and if I sell any dog food, it will be CANIDAE!

UPDATE 1/31/2001 - Since I wrote that review we have gotten a second dog. Normally, I wouldn't write an update but this food worked wonders on his coat! When we took in this little chihuahua mix stray he had the roughest, most prickly coat I have ever felt on a chihuahua mix. We didn't even want to pet him! After a couple weeks on CANIDAE you would have thought he was a different dog. Now he is soft and shiny! Not to mention he smells better and he eats enthusiastically!

"Healthy today... because of CANIDAE"

8/2/2010 - I'd like to share with your company my experience and feelings providing my dogs with CANIDAE. They are sitting on a very special metal bench that surprisingly appeared last year in a beautiful nature park a block from my home. I recognized it as the unique bench my late wife Maggie and I donated to her church 6 years ago but understand it was removed because it got too hot in the sun.

Bobbie, 12, Milten, 13, and Abigale, 11 were weened on CANIDAE. They do not know of any other dog food. They have had no notable health issues, are very happy, and seem to be aging well. I cannot say the same thing regarding my past dogs fed other well known brands prior my introduction to CANIDAE. I'm very grateful to have had CANIDAE shared with me while attending a dog show near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena near where I live.

I believe so strongly in CANIDAE, I started to promote it whenever I saw a dog being walked etc. Then one day, after my reading an article in Whole Dog Journal listing CANIDAE as one of the top 10 recommended dog foods, and seeing my dog's excellent results, I felt an obligation to 'pay it forward' to other dog owners. I committed to help the Pasadena Humane Society get past their revolving objections (other pet food manufactures and shelf space issues etc.) to stock it. It's a joy hearing it has become a big seller and helps raise money for the PH Society. It's calming to see my dogs so healthy and happy.

"CANIDAE eliminated EVERY skin problem he ever had"

7/31/2010 - Just wanted to let you know that we have been serving our dogs CANIDAE dry food for almost two years now. We adopted a second shelter dog and the rescuer (who owns a pet store) said the new dog ate CANIDAE. So, we served it to the new dog, and to our other dog too. They both love it.

Our older dog had chronic skin problems. We'd taken him to the vet who did expensive skin tests and told us the dog was allergic to just about everything that you can find in most dog foods, so we were feeding him a prescription food (at very high expense).

CANIDAE eliminated EVERY skin problem he ever had. Both of their coats are beautiful, no itching or anything. Wonderful stuff. Kiwi is the reddish dog, Kobe the white/gray one. Kobe is the one whose skin condition improved 1000% because of your food.

"Cali's skin disorder has disappeared"

7/19/2010 - While doing some research online for the best puppy food, I read some pleasant reviews about CANIDAE All Life Stages. I have a 15 week old male Pitbull named "Blue," and a 17 week old female Pitbull named "Cali." I have had them on CANIDAE All Life Stages for the past 6 weeks and the results are amazing! Blue weighed in at a solid 35 lbs at 15 weeks, gaining 14 lbs in 30 days.

Cali had many scaly bumps on her head that looked like pimples when I brought her in.

The previous owner had her on some cheap puppy food you can find at the local grocery store. After being on CANIDAE All Life Stages for the past 6 weeks, Cali's skin disorder has disappeared, and her skin looks incredible! Everywhere I go, people compliment me on how beautiful their coats are. I'm pleasantly impressed with the quality of CANIDAE All Life Stages for my high energy puppies! My puppies only get the best!

7/13/2010 - CANIDAE keeps my dogs going, from the ball to the pool. They live a healthy life, full of playing and love. I wouldn't choose anything but the best for them to eat.

"It is amazing how long he has lived and I cherish every memory"

7/9/2010 - Scout is a 15 year old Chocolate Lab who started feeding CANIDAE All Life Stages dog food when we introduced it over 14 years ago. Debbie, a good friend of ours for many years, bought Scout for her son from one of our first employees back when we were getting started in the mid 1990s. We believe he started on his all CANIDAE diet at about 6 months of age making him one of the very first CANIDAE customers!

Debbie's son Duncan is Scout's owner and told us Scout was his 8th grade graduation present. "My parents saw a "Labrador Puppies Available" ad with a photo of the litter on the bulletin board at San Dimas Grain Company in San Dimas, California and decided it was time for me to have a dog of my own. When it was time for me to choose, there were so many cute puppies that I had the hardest time picking one. I remember looking over the group of puppies and seeing a small shy puppy among all the other strong energetic puppies. He was getting pushed around and most people would have looked over this shy puppy. I fell in love with him. I don't know what it was, I just could not leave without him. We named him Windy River Scout after his mother, Marilyn's Windy City, and his father, Mad River Burt."

Scout, who is now fed our Platinum formula for seniors, is still doing well in his senior years and is an energetic, happy boy, still loving life. He earned his American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen certification many years ago, and attained his Rally Novice title at 11 years of age. "It is amazing how long he has lived and I cherish every memory," said Duncan.

"I know this is the best food I can give her"

6/21/2010 - In my search for the best food I could possibly feed my new service dog puppy, Maggie, a Standard Poodle, I found Dan Enlow at Pet Pros in Renton, Washington.

I called, asking about the best quality food he had, what made it so good and what else he could tell me. Not really expecting too much information or much of his time on the phone, Dan was so wonderful and helpful. He took all the time I needed and let me ask all the questions I could. He offered to take time with me in the store as well, showing me the dog foods, comparing labels and ingredients and explaining what makes which better and so on. He was so kind as well as amazingly knowledgeable!

We discussed CANIDAE, and decided it was the best food I could possibly feed my Maggie. I decided on the Grain Free Salmon, because of known wheat and chicken allergies. I picked up a small bag, to have ready at home for her when we picked her up from the breeder. She loves, loves her dog food! She also loves the Snap-Bits treats! She is only 9 weeks old, and her little digestive system is handling this food beautifully! She will be my service dog, and as hard as she will work to learn all she has to, I know this is the best food I can give her to help her be as strong and healthy as she can be. Thank you CANIDAE for providing such healthy, wonderful pet foods. The quality of the ingredients, how they are made and the safety of it all really matters to me, and after Dan explained so much to me and helped me to understand what really matters in feeding dogs, I am so grateful that CANIDAE provides all that and more.

I have never had a salesperson, at any store, much less a pet product store, be so kind, helpful, knowledgeable and sweet as Dan. Pet Pros and CANIDAE have a real gem in Dan!

Maggie is not just my service dog in training, she is my baby, and I love her with all my heart and she deserves the best. CANIDAE is the best and I know there is no other food I will feed her. Thanks to Dan and CANIDAE!

"I could not take care of them without CANIDAE"

6/17/2010 - I think CANIDAE should sell tee-shirts to its customers. I have been feeding CANIDAE for 4 years now, my dogs love it and I recommend it to everyone. I'm a dog trainer and I love to wear tee-shirts featuring responsible pet ownership to my classes. I think CANIDAE is responsible pet ownership and I would love to wear it proudly.

I started to feed CANIDAE dog food after a bad experience with another brand of dog food. I was so freaked out because I was told by vets and fellow dog trainers that what I had been feeding was the best. So I did my own research and decided to try CANIDAE ALS. Best choice I have ever made. My two Pembroke Welsh Corgis loved it. Spike, who has allergies, has done very well on it, and Annie will actually eat it. I recommend it to everyone I meet including all of my training classes. Thank you to everyone at CANIDAE.

"I want people to know how awesome your food is!!!"

6/14/2010 - Hello! My name is Sarah and I have three fuzzy children who are my life. I just wanted to let you know that I am in awe over your dog food. I want people to know how awesome your food is!!! I put my three dogs on CANIDAE. They ALL have sensitive tummies.

My deaf and blind dog Keller has severe trust issues as he was abused when he was a baby. (He's only two now!) He won't eat treats, any table scraps, hates toys and it was a daily struggle for him to finish his dry dog food. I had him on a hypoallergenic prescription diet for a long time due to his sensitive tummy and he never really liked it but it was all I could feed him.

When I moved to California, the prices of the prescription dog food (which wasn't the healthiest food out there, anyway) were asinine. I decided to switch their food. I tried a holistic diet by [another manufacturer] and all three rejected it. They all three hated the taste and their stomaches hated the digestion process.

Desperate, I emailed you. You gave me peace of mind that your food was natural and holistic and all animal protein sources were not from cruel places. The food has US ingredients and I had to give it a try.

INSTANTLY, Keller is OBSESSED with the wet CANIDAE Beef and Fish formula. He cries and jumps on the counter when I prepare it with the CANIDAE Beef and Fish Meal dry formula. His food is literally gone in 1 minute and 43 seconds! (I timed it today, ha ha ha.)

Everyone looks forward to meal time and they all have solid BMs.

I want to thank you for your your comfort, your prompt response to my email, and most of all for the amazing dog food that I will never take my boys off of. Your company is amazing. You've all made my life so much easier and three tummies a whole lot less grumbly.

6/7/2010 - I looked up your website as I wanted to ask why you do not make the 44 lb. bags easier to open. But surprise, surprise, I find you have already done that. Way to go!

"I no longer have to mix canned food in to get my dogs to eat kibble"

6/1/2010 - We absolutely LOVE your food. After finding out that our 10 year old Staffordshire Terrier had severe grain allergies, we tried a few brands, some at the top of the price scale, some lower, you guys are right in the middle and are the best. I no longer have to mix canned food in to get my dogs to eat kibble.

They are looking awesome. Gizmo (Staff) lost her ear infections and skin issues after eating CANIDAE. We feed CANIDAE Grain Free All Life Stages, sometimes switching to CANIDAE Grain Free Salmon for a change. It also has been great for our 5-1/2 month old German Shepherd, Cullen. He is very active, working both in training for Schutzhund, and for conformation shows.

We will be acquiring a female GSD later down the line to participate in the same sports, and possibly breeding, and will still continue to use your products!!!! Thanks for everything, you guys are so great!!! I am sending you pictures of both of them taking a day off at the beach this week!!!! Gizmo likes rolling in the sand more than she likes the water, but at 10 years old, she still has the heart of a puppy!!!
