dog-friendly shopping
Let’s face it; we don’t like going anywhere without our dogs – they’re the perfect sidekicks. Dogs are always up for an adventure, they let you to play whatever you want on the radio, and they don’t really care where you’re going as long as they’re with you. Dogs make amazing co-pilots whether you’re bopping around town or headed out on a weekend getaway.

When your trip takes you far from home and the weather is too hot or cold to leave your pup safely in the car, it can be frustrating to be turned away by stores with a strict pet policy. After all, braving the retail crowds is way more manageable when you’ve got your trusty canine companion in tow. Aren’t there any stores who are hip to the idea that our dogs are way more like people than animals? Actually, there are.

More and more stores are adopting policies that allow you to shop with your dog – and some may even offer Fido a treat at the checkout line. Here are 16 national retail stores that will welcome your pup with open arms on your next shopping trip.

1. Half Price Books

This used bookstore’s policy on four-legged friends is handled on a store-by-store basis: some locations welcome dogs, and others know their customers prefer to shop canine-free. For stores that do welcome pups, please keep your dog on a leash.

2. Abercrombie & Fitch

Sometimes you need your best friend’s opinion on whether those jeans look good or whether that top is flattering. Now, fashion-forward pet owners can bring their dogs into the store for just that reason.
