Demand Planning Manager (US Based) - view position

Summary of Position: This position reports to the Head of Finance and leads the Demand Planning function of CANIDAE. The primary purpose of this role is to lead, implement, refine and manage a best-in-class Demand Planning process to adequately forecast global sales across several geographies, channels, and customers, at SKU, life cycle, and attribute levels. This function will also be closely tied and serve as a base to the FP&A and Annual Budgeting process of the company.

Outcomes:
Refine and lead CANIDAE’s Demand Planning function

  • Help develop, implement, and refine best-in-class Demand Planning (Forecasting) processes, metrics and tools as part of a newly defined S&OP process
  • Leads and own the Demand Phase of the S&OP cycle. Leads the monthly Demand Consensus meetings, manage by exception
  • Responsible for global sales forecast of active and new SKUs across geographies, channels, customers, and product life cycle and attributes
  • Structure and gather weekly and monthly sales input (special event, promotions, launches) and adjusts forecast accordingly
  • Participate in weekly over consumption / under consumption business meetings, flags issues and demand risks
  • Responsible for Forecast Accuracy & Bias (along with Sales)
  • Have a full understanding of the Company’s business strategies and initiatives, and apply these towards the SKU level forecasts that drive the Company’s financial plan and inventory management
  • Act as an organizational leader, able to coach, mentor, train and influence other stakeholders (finance, sales, marketing, production, CANIDAE Leadership) to maximize the effectiveness of the process
Be the Demand Planner & Forecasting resident expert
  • Uses statistical forecasting algorithms where applicable
  • Monitors and uses Sell-in, Sell-out, e-comm, account forecasts and market information as needed
  • Develops and implements an approach to track, monitor, and forecast sales during product and account launches
  • Understands and refines different planning horizons by SKUs, geographies or channels as necessary
  • Suggests and recommends updates to SKU segmentation based on volume and attributes that may have an impact on supply chain policies
  • Maintain Sell-in / Sell-out forecast accuracy scorecard by geography and channel or as needed
  • Ability to adjust parameters and settings in Demand Planning Software
Manage Demand Analyst(s) as company grows (currently no direct reports).
  • Manage analyst(s)
  • Organize the team roles and responsibilities as needed
  • Act as a coach and mentor for team of analyst(s)

Key skills/Attributes:
A minimum of five to seven years of related experience in Supply Chain and more specifically as Demand Planning responsibilities is required

Knowledge and expertise should include:
  • Expertise in Demand Planning and Forecasting (in pet food industry or CPG preferred but optional)
    • Thorough understanding of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process
    • Strong understanding of trade inventory modeling & demand forecast principles
    • Advanced numerate, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Versed with best-in-class ERP (NetSuite preferred but optional) systems (use, calibration, setting of parameters) and other useful platforms (Excel, Access, CoopDIGITy ReSight)

Territory Sales Rep (New England) - view position

Summary of Position: Territory Sales Reps are responsible for sales growth of CANIDAE’s entire product line at all Independent Pet Specialty Store locations in their assigned territory. Sales growth is achieved thru utilizing their selling, communication, and merchandising skills, as well as tools provided to educate Store Partners in order to gain their recommendation. The TSR is also responsible for increasing the account base within the territory, by bringing in additional stores, as CANIDAE retailers. The territory will cover Portsmouth New Hampshire, Portland Maine, Boston Massachusetts and Manchester New Hampshire.
Responsibilities (Description of job duties required, but not limited to):

  • Developing intimate product line knowledge for the purpose of educating retailers and distributor counterparts.
  • Conducting seminars consistently to ensure retail staff and decision makers are educated on CANIDAE products.
  • Utilizing MEDAL as a guideline to promote sales growth of CANIDAE at all retail outlets.
  • Prioritizing key retail accounts within a territory and working with the District Sales Manager to develop and perform effective routing and call frequency strategy.
  • Conducting all necessary travel in order to ensure that all key retail accounts are seen based on decided routing and frequency plan (plane travel and overnights). This will include making 6 to 7 physical calls per day, with a typical day requiring 2 to 4 hours of driving time.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new business within the territory.
  • Participating in trade shows, exhibitions, dog/cat shows, events and company meetings, as required. This will often require the physical set-up of a display booth, comprised of an easy-up tent, and large bags of CANIDAE products.

This position will cover the Oklahoma, Arkansas, Northern Texas, Kansas and Missouri territory. Responsibilities (Description of job duties required, but not limited to):

  • Conducting seminars daily to ensure Petco Store Partners are educated on all CANIDAE products
